A week after canceling three concert dates in Austria due to a terror threat, Taylor Swift returned to the stage for the first of five performances at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 15th. The Eras Tour showcased her 18-year musical career, marking Swift as the first solo artist to perform eight sold-out shows at the iconic venue. It also set the record for the highest-grossing concert tour in history. Sofia Isella featured as a guest opener and gave a unique performance, including TikTok popular song Hot Gum. Paramore also appeared as an opener, accompanying Swift on all her UK/EU shows, performing hits such as “Burning Down The House”, “The Only Exception” and “Misery Business.
The concert was organised into distinct sections by album, transitioning from the folksy tunes of Folklore and Evermore to the upbeat synth-pop of 1989, and showcasing the romanticism of Fearless alongside the eclectic tracks from Red. The atmosphere was electric, with Swift and her team feeding off the audience's energy. Opening with “Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince,” she wore her signature pink and blue bodysuit, immediately connecting with the crowd. With 16 costume changes over the three-hour set, fans eagerly anticipated each outfit. As she began her Fearless set in a striking black and gold bodysuit, the crowd erupted with excitement, especially during “You Belong With Me,” where Swift made her first descent down the expansive stage. Entering the Red era, she dazzled in a sequined shirt while performing “22,” presenting a hat to a lucky young fan. This heartfelt moment led into a passionate rendition of the ten-minute version of “All Too Well,” where the crowd sang along enthusiastically. Reflecting on her career, Swift mentioned her early show at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Despite only performing one song from Speak Now, “Enchanted,” she captivated fans with her layered “cupcake dress.” During her Reputation era, she sparkled in her iconic bodysuit, thrilling the audience with a powerful performance of "Don’t Blame Me.” Transitioning into her "folkmore" era, she captivated the audience in a stunning green ensemble, performing hits like “cardigan,” “betty,” and “champagne problems.” The crowd responded with resounding applause and creative displays involving balloons to mimic her stage orbs. During the 1989 segment, she wore a dazzling green and pink outfit, performing fan-favorites like “Style,” “Blank Space,” and “Shake It Off.” The entire stadium sang along to Kendrick Lamar's verse in "Bad Blood," and a spontaneous chant of “London” broke out during "Blank Space.” A new addition to the show was the Tortured Poets Department, featuring seven songs from her extensive album, described as “Female Rage: The Musical.” This playful segment included a Charlie Chaplin-inspired performance, where Swift levitated around the stage while singing tracks like "Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me.” For her surprise song set, Swift appeared in a flowing blue ombre dress, strumming "Everything Has Changed." She paused to express the need for Ed Sheeran, who joined her for a duet, also performing “End Game” and “Thinking Out Loud.” After Sheeran exited, Swift transitioned to the piano for a mashup of "The Alchemy" and "King Of My Heart," leading into her final era, “Midnights.” She dazzled in an iridescent t-shirt dress, performing "Lavender Haze" and "Anti-Hero." Closing with "Karma" in a magenta fringe jacket, Swift took a final bow alongside her dancers, leaving the audience ecstatic. View more pictures here: From The Crowd
